Politics

Brazil is a Federal Republic, with a typical 3 tiers of power; The Legislative, The Executive and The Judiciary.

The aforementioned make-up the Federal Republic of Brazil – There are however, 2 primary tiers below this; The State Government, headed by a an elected Governor and the City or Town Government, headed by an elected Mayor.

The Federal Government currently has 2 primary policies aimed at reducing inequality. Fome Zero and Bolsa Familia, Zero Hunger and a financial family payment or grant.

Brazil has about 180 Million people in the country and is arguably the most important of all the Latin American economies.

    

Economy

The main exports of Brazil are; soybean, coffee, cars, aircraft, orange juice, beef and textiles. Brazil has a very mature agricultural industry in addition to mining and manufacturing.

Tourism and Travel

Of course, everyone who enters Brazil from another territory must have a valid passport (it is usually best to have at least 6 months before expiry).

As of the time of writing (30th September 2008) tourists from the following countries do not need a Visa to enter Brazil:

Andorra, Argentina, Austria, Bahamas, Barbados, Belgium, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Denmark, Ecuador, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Monaco, Morocco, Namibia, Holland, Norway, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, San Marino, Slovenia, South Africa, South Korea, Malta, Spain, Suriname, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Trinidad & Tobago, United Kingdom, Uruguay, Vatican and Venezuela.
