The Cancer Hospital in Recife, has been and is a reference for cancer treatment in Brazil.

Each-day, there are 500 - 600 assesments undertaken

There is a daily intake of 300 new patients (in and out patient)

There are 163 beds available

There are 20 - 30 surgeries per day

The City of Recife has the 2nd highest incidence in the world , of cervical cancer (83 per 100,000 women)
Resources at the Hospital
The Brazilian Government only pays for 500 consultancies per month - but they need the finance and resources to conduct 1500 per month.
The Government only pays for 1 session of chemotherapy per month, per patient. But in reality the patient usually requires two sessions per month (1 every 15 days).
