Humanitarian and Community Work Project in Brazil
You will be assisting on a community humanitarian project , volunteering with and helping families who live their life living on the city’s municipal waste site (rubbish dump).
What kind of skills do I need?
You will have a love for children and know the importance of and understand of family and community bonding under very, very difficult circumstances.You will be caring, patient and understanding.
Your Role as a Volunteer
You will be involved in the day to day lives of the community and be involved with food distribution, health care, planning and other activities.
Why the placement needs you!
It's most obvious why the project would need your help. In short - Volunteer help is essential to the community ,without the help of volunteers just like you they would have even less hope and experience greater suffering than they otherwise would.
Accommodation
Your accommodation will be a homestay with a Brazilian family. Your location will be either Recife or Olinda, if you have a preference, please tell us.
Additional Information
Our humanitarian program is suitable for individual volunteers, groups and families (children must be aged 12 or over). You may join the program on any Monday and volunteer in whole weeks thereafter - please see the cost grid below for program costs and number of weeks.
You may combine our humanitarian project work with another program, providing your volunteer program is for at least 6 weeks in duration.
