Welcome to volunteerbrazil.com Newsletter - November 2005 ************************************** In this issue:
Alison, Anna and Dawn (from left to right) who volunteered in a boys orphanage in Recife.
Alison said ¨ The boys really touched me and I would very much like to help them True to her word, Alison has taken her pledge a step further, by undergoing training back home (Bristol, England) with a local charity who help the children of alcoholics, she feels this will give her a better understanding of the plight of affected children not only in Brazil and her home country, but all over the world. Thank you Alison, Anna and Dawn. For more information on our Orphanage Program, check out our webpage here: -----------------------------------------------2. From Samba to Irish Jig! ----------------------------------------------- One of our Street Children may soon have to get used to the Declan’s and Bernadette’s of An adoption process is underway, 14 year old Roberta (name changed) and her 18 month old daughter is being adopted by Bernadette (name changed) from Bernadette volunteered with us during the summer, and has already financed Roberta’s intensive English language course, her progress is incredible, however, falling way short of the dialect required to be considered a Dubliner (smiley) – but she at least knows what Guinness is! Will keep you updated in future Newsletters. You may check out our Street Children Project here: http://volunteerbrazil.com/streetkidsproject.html (please note, publishing this article does not indicate that volunteerbrazil concurs or otherwise with the concept of adoption in this context, or any other.)

The epitome of human good, Treading steps where Angels stood, Unfeigned faith, unconditional love, Saintly concern, free from above! Unselfish acts, free from greed, Aiding those who are in need, Recognition not, neither glory, This is the volunteers, august story. Indebted to you, eternally, We salute and hail your gratuity, Epiphany, a moment in time, The volunteer, we do assign. Alan Thomas November 2005
