What's Included In The Volunteer Program Cost

With many volunteer organisations the cost they advertise is somewhat different to what you pay. Or to put it another way, there will be hidden volunteer program costs, or add-ons!    

   

Hidden Costs

For instance, an organisation may advertise their volunteering abroad program for $1000, but you may just be getting your volunteer project and basic accommodation - with no food, no airport pick-up, no language class - these are what is referred to as add-ons. Volunteer Brazil have no hidden costs, we include accommodation and food (2 meals per day), airport pick-up and *language, AND pre-departure help, local orientation and support in-country. (independent volunteering excepted).

      

You must however first decide whether you want the full volunteer program with accommodation, food and all the other bits - OR, our independent volunteer program which is simply PROJECT WORK ONLY. Basically, if you can or want to arrange your own accommodation, food, transport from the airport and can manage without in-country support , go for the independent volunteer program.

      

However, if you would like us to provide your accommodation and 2 meals per day, airport pick-up, language and in-country support - you MUST book our FULL VOLUNTEER PROGRAM.

    You may volunteer for up to 12 weeks, each additional week is as follows:

    US = $160 per additional week

    UK =  £90 per additional week

    Canada = $175 per additional week

    Euro =  €120 per additional week

    Other currencies available upon request

Included in the above cost is the following:

• Pre-departure help and advice
• *Airport Pick-up
• Transport to accommodations
• Orientation in-country
• *Portuguese Language Classes
• Introduction to project
• In-country support and advice
• Post placement reference (if required)

*Portuguese Language Instruction only usually given to volunteers on programs of more than 3 weeks. (this is given during the first week after arrival in-country) If you book a volunteer program for 3 weeks or less and would like your first week as language week - PLEASE TELL US! 

*Sometimes it maybe necessary to take a taxi from the airport to your accommodation - particularly for late, delayed or weekend flights. You will be provided with your accommodation address, we will also reimburse your taxi fare, so please keep the receipt.

**Please note that programs in Rio, Porto de Galinhas and Sao Paulo will carry a surcharge in addition to the basic cost in the above cost grid. The surcharge amount depends upon the program type and time of year but will range from between 20% & 30%.
