Volunteering with Youth in Brazil (Apply for a place)

If you have a passion to help underprivileged youth and teenagers then our youth volunteering program is for you!

Throughout Recife and Olinda there are community based extracurricular activates which aims to teach and develop the skills of its youth. The activities are wide-ranging from art and craft to dancing, theatre, IT, sport, music and teaching English. You will be an assistant helping to organise the youth training classes and ensuring that the youth of Brazil benefit most from participating in this Federal Government funded project.

Why the youth of Brazil need you and why your help is really appreciated on this project!

The Youth Learner Project relies heavily on volunters due to amongst other things, an extremely low budget preventing the initiative from recruiting paid members of staff.

 

What kind of skills do I need?

You may or may not have experience of youth volunteer work. But you will have plenty of enthusiasm, patience and understanding is needed for this project as is a belief in giving these youth, life education and hope for their futures. Some of the children lack nutrition and formal education so if you are in tune and empathise with this generation we need your help

Resources

Our Youth Program resources are pretty scarce at times, so generous helpings of creativity maybe required. Some games, magazines or other basic resource ideas brought from home would be really appreciated. 

This is a great opportunity for anyone who can empathise with. Motivate, and understand youth and young people. Resources for our youth program are brought in from as many places as possible, ensuring an eclectic, flexible approach - are you up for it?

Accommodation

You may select to stay in a small hotel, or in a homestay with a Brazilian family (hotel is subject to availability, and may incur an additional cost).Your location will be either Recife, Olinda , if you have a preference, please tell us.

You may volunteer for up to 12 weeks, each additional week is as follows:

US = $150 per additional week

UK = £85 per additional week

Canada = $160 per additional week

Euro = €105 per additional week

Other currencies available upon request
